NRA CHIEF RANGE SAFETY OFFICER COURSE

THIS CLASS IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO TAKING YOUR FIRST NRA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR CLASS OR IF IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN TWENTY FOUR MONTHS SINCE YOU LAST TOOK THE CLASS AND ARE ADDING ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR DISCIPLINE.

This class is always included in the NRA Instructor Pistol Course and does not require separate registration.  If you want to add additional NRA instructor certifications you have to have taken this class within 24 months of adding another certification.  Instructor candidates learn the NRA Trainers policies and procedures, as well as the role and responsibilities of Apprentice Instructors, Assistant Instructors, Certified Instructors, Training Counselors, Range Safety Officers, and Chief Range Safety Officers.  It teaches instructor candidates how to organize training courses, promote their courses, utilize a team to conduct training, and how to prepare and present  lessons using the NRA teaching methods and materials. 

This class is approximately six to seven hours in length and students must pass the fifty question written exam with a score of 90 or better to be certified as a NRA Instructor.   Apprentice Instructors and Assistant Instructors must achieve a passing score of 85 or better for NRA certification.

THIS IS A NRA INSTRUCTOR LEVEL COURSE AND TEACHES CANDIDATES HOW TO TEACH AND CERTIFY OTHERS AS NRA RANGE SAFETY OFFICERS, HOW TO SUPERVISE NRA RANGE SAFETY OFFICERS AND SAFE SHOOTING ON A RANGE, AND HOW TO WRITE A SOP FOR A RANGE.

This class includes NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and is broken down into two segments.  The first day BIT is conducted and the second day the candidate’s role play teach the NRA Range Safety Officer Class to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and proper attitude to teach others to become NRA Range Safety Officers.  Candidates must already be certified NRA Range Safety Officers to take this class.  If candidates have taken the NRA BIT training within twenty four months of this class they do not have to attend the first day and the class fee will be reduced to $175.

Including BIT this class is approximately sixteen hours in length and students must pass the fifty question BIT written exam and the fifty question Chief Range Safety Officer exam with a score of 90 or better to be certified as a NRA Chief Range Safety Officer.
