This is a one day NRA certified defensive class designed for those who have a License to Carry, either Open Carry or Concealed Carry. It covers the seriousness of using a pistol in self defense, ethical, moral, and psychological effects. Students learn to safely draw from various concealment methods, principles of concealment, mental preparation and awareness, operating a pistol under stress, balancing speed and accuracy, instinctive reloads and malfunction clearances, and using cover and concealment.

Students must have had training or experience equivalent to our Intermediate Pistol Class to participate in this class. Students need a 9mm or greater semi automatic or a .38 Special or greater caliber revolver. Equipment needed includes an outside the waistband holster, a belt mounted two magazine holster, 3 speed loaders for a revolver, 300 rounds of factory loaded full metal jacket ammunition, electronic ear protection, and eye protection. There is an exam that students must pass plus shooting proficiency to earn the NRA Certificate verifying they have passed the class.
