NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home
This class develops the knowledges, skills, and necessary attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations, when the use of deadly force is permitted, and how to safely and effectively use a pistol in self defense anywhere outside a building.
This class includes learning to draw a pistol from concealment efficiently and the principles of using a pistol in self defense. In this class you will learn to assess your surroundings, how to stay in the proper alertness state of mind, when you can legally use deadly force, using concealment and cover, learning how to engage a threat from many different shooting positions, getting off the X and movement, engaging multiple threats, learning when to use point shooting, flash sight pictures, and aimed fire. You will also learn how to deal with law enforcement in the event you are involved in a shooting, as well as the psychological and physiological changes that occur in a self defense shooting.
You must have taken the NRA Personal Protection in the Home Class prior to taking this class that teaches defense with a pistol inside the home.
You should register at least 14 days in advance of class to allow time for NRA to ship your training materials to us. If less than three people pre-register the class will be cancelled and full deposits refunded. Last minute registrations taken if four people have pre-registered and we have any extra NRA required training materials.
We only consider minors under 18 for training if a parent or guardian takes the training with them. We consider students between the ages of 18 and 21 on a case basis.
Payment with your registration is required to reserve a slot for a class. If you cancel attending more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time of a class you’ve registered for there will be a $50 cancellation fee deducted from your refund to cover our advance administrative costs. Cancellations within 48 hours of a class do not qualify for any refund without evidence from your doctor of an illness or a statement on your employers letterhead stating you are required to work on the day of the scheduled class and a name and company telephone number for your supervisor for verification purposes.
