Defensive Shotgun Training

This training is for experienced shooters who have mastered the fundamentals of operating a 20 ga or 12 ga pump or semi-automatic shotgun.
The training includes the essentials of defensive shotgun safety, developing a defensive mindset, and learning the necessary skills and techniques to deploy the defensive shotgun in a self-defense encounter.
This class presents the foundation of a reality based, aggressive, close quarter combative method of deploying the shotgun. It includes the elements of movement, multiple threats, alternative shooting positions, target acquisition, use of cover and concealment considerations, and ability to function under high stress.

Conducted at Thunder Gun Range
You need a 20 ga or 12 ga pump or semi-auto shotgun with a barrel length between 18.5″ and 24″, a single point sling or two-point sling, optional shotgun shell caddy, 100 shotgun shells (preferably #4 shot and 10 slugs) electronic ear protection and eye protection (prescription eyeglasses may be adequate if they protect your eyes from hot ejected brass casings).
Registration details
We take 18 to 20 year olds on a case basis if a parent or guardian is not taking the training with them.
Payment with your registration is required to reserve a slot for a class. If you cancel attending more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time of a class you’ve registered for there will be a $50 cancellation fee deducted from your refund to cover our advance administrative costs. If you do not cancel within 48 hours there is a $75 cancellation fee. If you do not show up for training your pre-payment is forfeited.
